My Parents tell me, that ever since I could walk I had always handle ball at something, with a special preference for basketballs. Funny enough, the basketball court is where I have mostly in my life felt at ease and little did I know then, that it was to be my life MOTOR.

My parents were not very excited with the prospects of me becoming professional basketball players. It was understandable as at that time, late 80’s and early 90’s, practically nobody made a decent living from playing professional basketball. They felt school was more important and fortunately for me I was not doing badly in school which eased their minds and allowed me to play basketball. I had a good time at the St Paul, Primary School and Ewulo Secondary School back than in Otukpo Benue state in Nigeria.
These schools also gave me the opportunity to passionately play basketball during the sports periods. As you can imagine we used every second we had during breaks between classes to play ball. Basically we were always focused on playing during the whole day.
I started playing in a school called Jesus college back than and in school. My first club experience was with OT united. After that I changed to EL dunia Hotel and finally got into the Dodan Warriors basketball club selection in Lagos.
In 1990 whilst in Dodan Warriors basketball club, I received an invitation from MR Lamin Mousa Hammed, a Libyan players agent, may his blessed soul rest in peace, to go to Libya for trials. I was actually offered the opportunity to become a professional basketball player for hilat basketball club.
On the 1st of July 1996 I boarded a Swissair flight to Malta via Zürich because there was no direct air to Libya back then. All I had with me was a little Adidas sports bag with my basketball shoes and 50 Dollars, my life savings at the time. My bible was also in the bag, which gave me a lot of strength and fait. I was armed with the determination that even if I had to die on the basketball court during the trials to succeed, I was not going to fail. There was no way I was going back to Nigeria without a signed professional contract!
On the third of July 1990 I had my first try out with the Hilat first team headed by Mr. Emad mahamoud . Thirty minutes after the training finished, Emad called Mr. Musa to communicate him that he was offering me a contract! My first mission was completed; I was given the opportunity to become a professional basketball player. At that time Hilat was the Libyan Cup Champions, hence they qualified to play in the Arabian Cup. SO BEGAN MY PROFESSIONAL basketball CAREER JOURNEY. I’ll CONTINUE FROM HERE SOON STAY TUNE;

UEFA Scraps Goal Rule In Champions League And Europa League

UEFA has abolished the away goal rule in all club competitions from the 2021/22 season. Instead, ties that are still level after two matches will go to extra time and penalties. “The away goals rule has been an intrinsic part of UEFA competitions since it was introduced in 1965. However, the question of its abolition has been debated at various UEFA meetings over the last few years,” UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin said. “Although there was no unanimity of views, many coaches, fans and other football stakeholders have questioned its fairness and have expressed a preference for the rule to be abolished.” He added: “The impact of the rule now runs counter to its original purpose as, in fact, it now dissuades home teams – especially in first legs – from attacking, because they fear conceding a goal that would give their opponents a crucial advantage. ”There is also criticism of the unfairness, especially in extra time, of obliging the home team to score twice when the away team h
